Water levels and flows are gradually increasing at several locations along the main stem of the Ottawa River due to spring runoff. With forecasted precipitation and warmer temperatures starting Sunday, levels and flows should continue to increase over the coming week, particularly from Lake Coulonge down to the Montreal area. Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur into the weekend. Low-lying areas (such as recreational trails near water) are those locations that regularly flood during the spring freshet period.
