Water levels and flows along the main stem of the Ottawa River are currently within seasonal values. Spring runoff is expected to continue increasing over the coming days due to precipitation received between March 31 and April 6 combined with ongoing snowmelt. Water levels and flows are expected to continue increasing from Lac Coulonge down to the Montreal Region over the coming week. Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur into the weekend as a result of the increased spring runoff. Low-lying areas are those locations that regularly flood during the spring freshet period.
